How to adjust Albert's reading pace (speed up or slow down its messages)

If Albert's messages feel too slow or too fast, you can change its delivery speed from the employee portal or as an admin.

What is the reading pace?

When Albert talks with an employee, it sends its messages at a set delivery speed so the conversation feels natural and easy to follow. This speed is called the reading pace, and it is measured in characters per second.

If your team finds the exchange too slow (or too fast), the reading pace can be changed at any time. A faster pace makes Albert's messages appear more quickly.

⚙️ The reading pace is a per-employee preference: changing it affects one employee's experience, not the whole workspace.

Available speeds

  • 🐢 Normal reader (30 characters/second)

  • 🐎 Fast reader (40 characters/second)

  • Speedrun reader (60 characters/second)

To make Albert feel snappier, choose Fast or Speedrun.

How an employee can change it

  1. Go to the employee portal and open your profile / preferences page.

  2. Find the Reading pace setting.

  3. Select the speed you prefer. The change applies right away.

How an admin can set it for an employee

  1. Open the Team section and select the employee.

  2. Click Edit on their profile.

  3. Under Preferences, open the Reading pace dropdown and pick a speed.

  4. Click Save.

👥 Because the setting is per employee, a team-wide change means updating each employee (either by having them switch it in their portal, or by editing their profiles).

Good to know

The reading pace controls how fast Albert delivers its messages, which is the main factor in how quick or slow the conversation feels. A small part of the response time can also come from Albert generating its answer, which this setting does not change. Switching to Fast or Speedrun will, however, clearly improve the perceived speed of the exchange.
