Activate Simulation Rollout

Rollout is the setting that allows phishing attacks to be sent to your employees. Here’s what it is used for and how to enable it.

šŸš€ What is Simulation Rollout?

Rollout is the setting that authorizes the actual sending of phishing attacks to your employees from the Riot platform.

As long as it is disabled, you can create, configure, and schedule your campaigns, but no phishing emails will actually be sent to your teams. It acts as a safeguard between the configuration phase and the live deployment of your simulations.

šŸ‘ Good to know: Rollout is disabled by default on new Riot accounts. This is intentional: it gives you time to configure your domains, verify your audience, and prepare your templates before switching to ā€œlive sendingā€ mode.

1ļøāƒ£ Steps to Enable Rollout

šŸ‘‰ Step 1: Go to the ā€œSimulationā€ tab from the main menu of the Riot platform.

šŸ‘‰ Step 2: Open the Simulation settings

šŸ‘‰ Step 3: Enable rollout by turning on the toggle ā€œEnable attack sendingā€.

šŸ’” Prerequisites: Before enabling rollout, make sure that:

  1. Your domains are verified in Settings > Domains

  2. Your audience is up to date in the Team menu (active employees only)

  3. Your phishing templates are ready (see Prepare my phishing Templates)

2ļøāƒ£ What’s Next?

Once rollout is enabled, you can launch your campaigns by clicking ā€œLaunchā€ from the Simulation page. See the article Create a Phishing Campaign for detailed instructions.

āš ļø Important: If you disable rollout after campaigns have been launched, any ongoing campaigns will be paused.
