📚 Step 3 of Your Riot activation journey.
⬅️ Back to the previous step: 2️⃣ Validate your domains
When an employee has doubts about an email or falls for a simulation, they need to know straight away who to turn to. The Cyber team is exactly that: your cybersecurity contacts, and the way to reach them. Riot shows them to your employees whenever they need it.
💡 Prerequisites:
Administrator access to Riot, and being signed in to hub.tryriot.com;
having synced your employees (step 1): the members of the Cyber team are chosen from among them.
❶ What your employees see
Your Cyber team's name, members and contact method are shown:
in the emails Riot sends to your employees;
in the courses;
on the remedial page, shown to an employee who has just fallen for a simulation.
Example on a remedial course:
❷ Set up your Cyber team
👉 Step 1: Open the Cyber team section
In the left-hand column of your screen, click Settings. The General tab opens by default. Scroll down the page: the Cyber team section is just below the Workspace section. On the right, a badge-shaped preview shows what your employees will see; it updates as you change your settings.
👉 Step 2: Choose your team's name
Click the Name drop-down menu and choose the name that best fits your organisation from those offered (for example The infosec team or Trust Office).
👉 Step 3: Add the members
Under Members, click Manage members, then select the people in your team. Their photos appear on the badge.
⚠️ Important: only active employees of your organisation can be added. If someone doesn't appear, check that they are in the list of active employees in the Team menu in the left-hand column.
👉 Step 4: Choose the preferred contact method
Under Preferred contact method, click the icon for the contact method you want, then fill in the field that appears below:
@: an email address, to enter in the Email field;
🔗: a link to a page of your choice (form, intranet, ticketing tool…);
a messaging app (for example a Google Chat or Slack channel).
Your settings are saved. Check on the badge, on the right, that the name, members and contact are correct.
💡 Our recommendation: use a generic email address (for example [email protected]) rather than a person's. The contact stays valid even if a team member changes role or is away.
🛠️ A problem?
Someone doesn't appear in the list of members: check that they have been synced (see 5️⃣ Troubleshooting synchronisation issues).
Still stuck? Contact our team via the chat in the platform.
Key takeaways
The Cyber team is set up in Settings > General, Cyber team section.
It is shown in emails, courses and the remedial page: it is the first port of call offered to an employee who has doubts.
Its members are chosen from your active employees.
Prefer a generic email address as the contact method.
