Reminder notifications for Albert Courses

This article explains the automatic and manual follow-ups for tracking Albert courses

Updated this week

To ensure the proper completion of Albert courses, you can send notifications to your employees in two ways:

  • Automatic reminders: You launch your program, and Albert takes care of reminding your employees.

  • Manual reminders: You manually remind part or all of your employees for one or more courses.

Automatic reminders :

1️⃣ What is a course reminder notification?

A course reminder notification is sent to your employees via Albert when:

  • A course is due: This means the course is available, the employee has already received a notification from Albert to complete it, but it hasn't been done yet.

  • A course is overdue: This means the course is available, and the deadline to complete it has passed.

👍 Good to know : Reminder notifications are sent through your previously configured notification channel.

2️⃣ What are the different types of reminders?

👉 Introduction Course Reminder:

This reminder is native to the Riot solution and cannot be modified.

If the employee hasn't completed the first introduction course upon entering the Albert program, they will be reminded after 2 days.

Reminder by email :

Reminder on Slack :

👉 Reminder for Courses to follow :

This reminder is native to the Riot solution and cannot be modified.

The frequency of reminders varies depending on the employee's position in their Albert year:

  • During the first week: reminder every 2 days

  • During the first month: reminder every 7 days

  • For the rest of the year: reminder every 14 days

👍 Good to know: an employee’s journey is on a rolling 365‑day basis, not a calendar year. For example, if you launch the program on 22/09/2025, the employees will celebrate their 1‑year with Albert on 22/09/2026.

👉 Reminder before due date

This reminder is native to the solution and cannot be modified.
It is sent if your employee has several courses to complete before the end of the period.

The frequency of reminders varies depending on the employee’s position in their Albert year:

  1. During their first month: follow‑up 2 days before, then 1 day before the end of their first month.

  2. For the rest of the year: follow‑up 7 days before, 3 days before, then 1 day before the end of their year

Example of notification by mail :

👉 Reminder for overdue courses :

Here, it concerns follow‑ups on courses not completed after the deadline.

This reminder is not native to the Albert program; it must be activated on your side in the Awareness module settings.

  1. Go to Awareness → click on the two small lines of settings

  2. Activate the option

  3. Choose the number of follow‑ups you want

You can, within this Course Reminders option, leave Albert as the sender of follow‑ups or choose a member of your company. The goal is to choose the person who will most encourage your employees to complete the courses!

Manual reminders

1️⃣ What is a manual notification?

In addition to all the automatic notifications listed above, you can manually follow up all your employees or only a portion.

These follow‑ups are only possible for overdue courses.

2️⃣ How to manually follow up my employees?

👉 Reminder for all employees

All your collaborators will receive a notification listing all their overdue courses.

To do this:

  • Go to Awareness → Overview

  • Click on Remind overdue employees

Exemple of notification on Slack :

👉 Reminder for employees of a group

You can select a group and only follow up the employees of that group.

To do this:

  1. Go to Awareness → Overview

  2. Select the desired group

  3. Click on Remind overdue employees

For example: below I selected the “Sales” team of my Google Workspace tenant, to follow up only that team.

You can use this option for the native groups of your tenant or for Riot dynamic groups.

👉 Reminder for a manager’s team

As a manager, you can also follow up your team’s collaborators.

💡 Prerequisite: the manager must be defined in your tenant so that the information synchronizes on Riot.

There are two ways to follow up as a manager:

  1. On your Employee portal: In the “Team” tab, click on “Cheer up”

If you don’t have the “Cheer up” option, then none of your collaborators are overdue.

2. From the notification received via the Escalation option:

💡Prerequisite: Activate the Escalation option in your Awareness module settings.

If the Escalation option is activated, as a manager you receive a notification and you can then follow up your overdue collaborators.

Example of notification on Slack :

💡 Good to know: On the “Team” tab, by clicking on one of your employees, you can access many details about their journey.
