📚 Last step of Your Riot activation journey.
⬅️ Previous step: Introduce Riot to your employees
💡 Prerequisites:
having completed the setup of your workspace (steps 1 to 6).
having activated your modules (steps 7 to 10).
having communicated about Riot with your teams (previous step).
Everything is ready: your workspace is set up, your modules are activated and your employees have been informed. All that's left is to activate Cyber Missions. From then on, each of your employees will receive their mission every month, without you having to do anything.
💡 Prerequisite: Administrator access to Riot, being signed in to hub.tryriot.com, and a plan that includes the Awareness module.
❶ Check that everything is ready
Before activating, take two minutes to go over these points. Each one links to the step of the journey where it is set.
☐ Your Cyber Missions are set up: content, delivery channel, reminders and alerts to managers in Settings > Cyber Mission (step 5).
☐ Your awareness programme is published, and course delivery is enabled in the Awareness settings (step 8).
☐ Your employees have been informed (previous step), as well as their managers and your IT support.
❷ Activate Cyber Missions
👉 Step 1: Open the Cyber Mission tab
In the left-hand column of your screen, click Settings. At the top of the page, click the Cyber Mission tab.
👉 Step 2: Activate Cyber Missions
At the very top of the page, activate Cyber Missions with the dedicated button. Their status changes to Live.
Once Cyber Missions are activated, a new mission is generated on the 1st of each month for each of your employees.
❸ Finalise your modules
Now that your employees have been informed, two settings left on hold can switch to normal mode:
Slash: if you started in Audit mode (step 9), switch to Warning mode so that your employees see the alert banners. This is set in Inbox, Slash section of its settings.
Sonar: the rules that go through Cyber Missions (Suspicious downloads, Unpatched devices) can now work. You can turn them on if you wish (step 10).
❹ Check what your employees receive
When the first mission arrives, review it with a trusted employee, or with your own account:
the new mission notification arrives correctly, on the right channel;
the mission opens on the portal, app.tryriot.com;
the expected tasks appear (courses, Sonar checks, data leak alerts, depending on your modules);
squads are visible, if you have enabled the competition.
👍 Good to know:
not all your employees have the same mission: that's normal, it depends on each course's audience and on each person's progress;
the evaluation (the quiz at the start of the mission) only appears from the second mission onwards;
some tasks can only be done on the portal, even if missions are sent on Slack, Teams or Google Chat.
❺ What next?
New joiners automatically receive a welcome mission. If they finish it before the 15th of the month, they join the current month's mission; otherwise, they start the following month.
An unfinished mission at the end of the month: the remaining tasks can be carried over to the following months, within certain limits.

🛠️ A problem?
An employee doesn't receive their notifications: check the channel enabled in Settings > Notifications (step 4). If only the reminders are missing, check that they are enabled in Settings > Cyber Mission (step 5).
Your employees receive too many messages: turn off the social nudges first (step 5, part ❺).
